Events
Detroit's neighborhood are the core of our work and connecting with the community is the key to success. We offer programs and presentations geared toward community engagement and education to expand access to DLBA opportunities. Join us at any of these events to learn more.
The DLBA's community events connect Detroiters directly with our staff in key areas of interest like home and land sales, maintenance, Compliance, and more. Check out the calender here for upcoming events and follow us on Facebook @buildingdetroit or Instagram @buildingdet for updates on our programs and upcoming events.
Open Houses offer potential buyers a chance to see upcoming Auction properties in-person before placing bid. Prior to COVID, Open Houses were sheduled on weekends, two weeks ahead of the property's Auction date. Open Houses remain suspended due to COVID health and safety concerns, but you can still tour a house before making a purchase. If you're interested in a property, you can shedule a private showing via the property's listing page. Click here for the Open House Calender.
The DLBA is governed by a Board of Directors appointed by the State of Michigan, Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan, and Detroit City Council. The Board of Directors conducts public meetings monthly. Click here for information on the next meeting.
Building Blocks is designed with the neighborhood in mind. As our city looks to restore balance, the DLBA continues its effort in eliminating blight. Building Blocks events partner with neighborhood stackholders to engage residents and attract potential buyers ahead of a new release of Auction and Own It Now property listings. Join the DLBA for presentations and virtual tours of select properties. Click here for more information.
